LE BAIN BUNK ROOM
BRISBANE
A bunk room disguised as a treetop jungle oasis…that they’ll never want to leave.
In the bustling heart of Brisbane, Britt White Studio has crafted a luxurious modern home for a global executive aiming to provide a tranquil retreat for his family. Perched atop the Le Bain, a distinguished 15-story development in Newstead, the penthouse now serves as a serene sanctuary for the family. Designed with meticulous attention to detail, the space offers respite from the hectic pace of work and travel, embracing an inviting, organic and textural ambience.
One standout feature of the home is the Jungle Room, tailored specifically for the client's two young sons. This space presented an exciting opportunity for Britt to showcase her creativity in crafting a room that is both playful and highly functional.
Collaborating closely with the boys, Britt White Studio translated their ideas and needs into reality. The bespoke bunk-bed solution, crafted by Ken Brooks of BRC Cabinets, offers ample storage and a cosy reading nook with built-in chargers for electronics. The top bunk, enveloped in hand-tied rope work by local artisans from Emmett Ropes, adds a touch of adventure to the room.
Every detail in the Jungle Room, from the tree-top wallpaper by Rebel Walls to the custom-designed elements, reflects the boys' love for nature and exploration. This personalised retreat provides a secluded space where they can let their imaginations run wild.
Matt, the head of the household, expresses his delight with the home crafted by Britt White Studio. He commends the studio for bringing his vision to life — a space that celebrates Australian craftsmanship and sustainability while maintaining a sophisticated and vibrant atmosphere. The unexpected success of the Jungle Room has become a favourite hideout for the boys, surpassing even the allure of the rooftop pool.
