VIEW HILL RESIDENCE

WHOLE OF HOUSE RENOVATION

A contemporary look for a dated master residence, stage one of an ongoing commercial holiday unit project.

Nestled among mature trees near Bright in Victoria’s High Country, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) has launched a short-term holiday rental that promises both comfort and adventure. Led by Britt White Studio, the renovation of the View Hill Residence blends contemporary design with a rustic twist, creating a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.

ANMF aimed to create a home away from home for its members, predominantly female, often travelling in groups. The design centres on a playful feminine aesthetic that is inviting, practical and appealing. Britt White Studio delivered a renovation that is both elegant and fun, ensuring every guest feels welcome.

The design ethos combines contemporary style with rustic elements, creating a warm, comfy, informal atmosphere. A colour palette of warm neutrals with bold accents and wood and black touches creates a cozy yet sophisticated ambience. The renovation covered every corner of the house, from a fresh colour scheme to new wood windows framing natural views. Bathrooms and laundry were reimagined by architects Bayley Ward, while Britt White Studio designed the bedrooms, colour palette, materials, furniture, art and objects with both functionality and aesthetics in mind.

ANMF emphasised sustainability and local craftsmanship. Furnishings and fixtures from local makers and Australian designers add a unique touch and support the community. The choice of durable, commercial-grade materials ensures the investment is wise and sustainable.

The renovation exudes fun and playfulness, reflecting the adventurous spirit of its guests. Whether cycling, skiing, bushwalking, or exploring the local food and wine scene, visitors will find a space that complements their outdoor pursuits. It's a place designed to create lasting memories, where every corner whispers relaxation and joy.

The Residence is the cornerstone of a multi-stage development, including smaller holiday units slated for completion in 2025. This initial stage demonstrates a careful balance of wise investment and solid financial returns. It exemplifies a harmonious vision shared between client and designer, setting a new standard for holiday rentals and promising a future of elegance, comfort, and community.
